Paul Allotei Bogle

My name is Paul Bogle. I’m a self-taught photographer who grew up in New Addington, Croydon, in a Ghanaian household with my mum and two brothers. One older, one younger, which makes me the middle kid lol.

Art has always been a big part of who I am. I got hooked on Japanese anime towards the end of primary school, if I remember correctly, and it’s stayed with me ever since. The bright, expressive colours caught my attention, but so did the stories about perseverance, pushing forward and finding your own way. Looking back, those influences have shaped both my style and how I approach my work.

Creativity was always where I felt most comfortable at school. Through plenty of trial and error, that love of art eventually led me to pick up a camera and find another way to express myself.

Since then, my photography journey has included an Abbey Road nomination, something I’m really proud of.
